Release Notes

Requirements:

Visual Studio 2008 - to compile /Visual Studio 2005 Version Below
SharePoint Server 2007
Active Directory based Domain

Beta Notice:

This is the first version of the console application therefore I have put it in Beta because I do not know the stability of the code in different environments. Currently there is no writing to the console so you will not see any textual output but you should notice the changes in the groups that were specified. Future improvements will include text output and logging to a file.

How to use:

1.Open the project in Visual Studio 2008 and modify the following line:

Sync("Your domain name here, no slashes or.com","Your SharePoint site URL here", "Your AD Group Name here (Case Sensitive)", "Your SharePoint Group Name here (Case Sensitive)");

This calls the 'Sync' method and passes in the required variables, should you wish to sync more groups or on different SharePoint sites, simply add another of the same line (call the method again) as many times as required.

2.Build the project in VS and copy the .exe file from the bin folder to the SharePoint server.

3.Execute the exe file (or setup in the task scheduler for regular syncing

Suggestions:

I will gladly accept all suggestions for improvement and modification.

Disclaimer:

I shall not be held responsible for any damage or data loss that may occur from using this application. Please be sure to follow the instructions above and always run the code in a test environment first.
